Like Gallardo, Sherwood wasn’t expecting Winner to go as far as he did when shooting her rape scene. “I knew from the script that it would have to be brutal,” she says. “I didn’t know it was going to be that graphic. I was rather upset about it. I wish there was [a body double]. I was far too young to insist upon that. And to make filming even more difficult, the Los Angeles Times was doing a series of articles on [the film] and one of the days they chose to interview everybody was the day of my rape scene. That was pretty intense. I think we were shooting for about a week in the warehouse in the middle of the night. There was running and all that kind of stuff.
